Mevicon personnel have designed, built, tested and delivered multiple
hexapod type multi-degree of freedom motion control, pointing, and/or
active vibration isolation systems. These hexapods are based on a
variety of linear electromagnetic and piezoelectric actuators integrated
together with feedback sensors, stand alone DSP controllers, firmware,
signal conditioning, power amplifiers, power supplies, etc. Applications
have ranged from the very precise (sub-micron) positioning of small optics
payloads to systems capable of supporting 1000+ lb payloads.
