We are currently looking for experienced thermal-structural analysts/consultants to help us in our R&D and product development.
Specifically we are looking for analysts or consultants who are experienced in one or both of the following areas:
Thermal: Predicting steady state, slowly varying, and transient thermal distributions for large area/low thermal mass surfaces
in a radiation transport dominated environment (i.e. on-orbit with solar Flux, planetary albedo/IR effects, and radiation
to deep space)
Structural: Analysis of thin film shells (very high R/t ratios), including but not limited to, response to quasi-static loads
(accelerations, rotations, thermal, pressure), structural dynamics, buckling limits/onset, buckling propagation, geometric,
material, and temperature dependent nonlinearities.
Experience with the following a strong plus:
Modeling MLI material
Using MATLAB for pre and post processing and run automation
Experimental and or hands on background to complement analytical skills
Detailed Knowledge/Experience in any of the following application areas is an added advantage:
Space Hardware Design/Development/Demonstration
Large Reflective Optics
Reflective RF Apertures
Solar Concentrators
MLI/Thermal Control/Sun Shields
Thin Film Solar Cells, Blanket Solar Arrays
Ideal candidates will combine analysis and/or R&D experience with expertise in at least one application area. Excellent writing/documentation
skills and ability to interface with internal team are a must. Thermal Desktop and ABACUS are the preferred software sets.
Must be willing to sign NDA. If consulting, initial work/project load likely to be 15 to 20 hours/week with possibility to
scale up to full time if match is right. To be considered, candidate must have at least 8+ years worth of relevant experience.
